Join us for our community weaving class Saturday, Join us for our community weaving class Saturday, April 25 from noon to 4 PM. Will provide all materials tools and even a footstool frame. The theme for this month is Shaker Tape weaving - a great beginner way to dip your toes into the craft producing fun colors and patterns. This is part of the #handwork2026 initiative a partnership with @craftinamerica celebrating 250 years of craft. These classes are on a sliding scale from $50-$150. Come weave with us! Anyone who has ever taken a class with me and Dave Anyone who has ever taken a class with me and Dave has heard the story of meeting Andrea for the first time. “You’re doing it wrong.” The first thing she ever sent to me. Followed by “come over to my house. I’ll show you the xs.” Not only was Andrea an amazing Chair Weaver, but she was a phenomenal photographer. You can see her images of the East End neighborhood of Asheville at the Pack Memorial library. 300 of them. And she worked tirelessly to preserve her grandfather’s legacy. The @jamesvmillerasheville walking trail. Hundreds of people celebrated her on Saturday and what a legend she was in so many hilarious and important ways. I was left with the message that there is still work to be done to honor everyone in Asheville, to preserve neighborhoods and humanity, not let them fall prey to development for tourism, to build community. #legend #chairnerdsneversaydie
