Cherry & machine woven cane laundry hamper - nice Cherry & machine woven cane laundry hamper - nice metaphor for the end of a dirty year - a bit more optimistic than my overall dumpster vibe right now but it gives me hope that our goal of inspiring woodworkers to incorporate woven panels into their work is happening and we aren’t pouring ourselves into our crazy work for nothing. Thanks Spence!

2025 was not all bad but it was HARD- we had to sa 2025 was not all bad but it was HARD- we had to say no to lots of things, putting on a brave face while we waited out the trauma of the storm and relocating, being cramped in the back of the new space, unable to get work done efficiently, figuring out what we saved and what we lost, applying for endless grants rehashing the losses and effects each time, looking on the bright side despite our exhaustion and overwhelm, and living out a calendar planned a year before the storm. It was A LOT and just when things started moving forward in September- we could unpack the museum, start planning and teaching classes again, the book finally came out - Rosie started crashing. We got little sleep and were constantly at various vets. Despite allllll of the setbacks, and feeling like we were busting ass but going nowhere, we said yes to a few things as seen here, and they were amazing. Hoping for a more restful and nourishing year next year for everyone. Practice saying no - open yourself up for possibilities unplanned - a bit of magic even?
We are sad to report that our Director of Customer We are sad to report that our Director of Customer Relations has died. Rosie came down with a barrage of issues shortly after her 12th birthday in September. She was joy and sunshine and we are lucky to have had her in our lives and be able to bring her to work with us to all 3 locations. She got us through some pretty tough times with her goofy silly energy. She loved kisses squeakers, eating, and running on the beach- she hated her collar/harness/leash and despite having clear boundaries about snuggling, she was always at our side often pulled us toward her favorite places in West Asheville and Weaverville. We will miss her under our feet. In lieu of sad memorial items, you can make a donation to the @1510foundation which provides medical assistance to help shelter dogs become more adoptable and who’s other insta page @weratedogs honors all the good dogs and makes me smile. Also please wait a bit to text or call us if you can. It was just a year ago we were bombarded with concern after the storm - this year has been challenging. We are tired. But we will bring Rosie’s goofy energy and love of life into the new year.
